SWIM LESSON (2018) (8 minutes)
What does it feel like to learn something new as an adult? Through the eyes of Brooklyn native William Coon, this sensory-based short documentary presents an immersive experience of moving through water as a novice swimmer, over the course of one swim lesson. The city of Guangzhou is home to China's largest community of African immigrants. Despite facing prejudice and the risk of deportation, three African hip-hop artists strive to change perceptions and achieve a better life in a new land of opportunity.
